MarinaTex Showcases Flexible Films At Empack 2026

MarinaTex officially launched its next-generation natural polymer coating technology at Packaging Innovations & Empack 2026, the UK’s leading packaging exhibition. Across two days, we showcased how naturally derived biopolymers can replace conventional plastic films and coatings while supporting a circular economy.

As part of the conference programme, CEO Craig Sterling delivered a featured presentation, “Flexible packaging without the footprint: Introducing MarinaTex,” exploring how underutilised natural polymers can be transformed into high-performance barrier materials for packaging. The session highlighted MarinaTex’s scientific approach, commercial applications and the role of bio-based materials in helping brands meet evolving sustainability and regulatory requirements.

Adding to the company’s success at the event, founder Lucy Hughes was recognised as a Future Trailblazer 2026 finalist in the Design for the Future category, acknowledging her contribution to innovation within the packaging industry.
